The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been on a whirlwind tour of New York City, meeting political heavyweights including Barack and Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton.
On Monday, however, they were meeting celebrities of a different kind as they sat courtside at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where they watched LeBron’s team the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Brooklyn Nets.
After the game, the couple had a quick chat with LeBron and posed for some backstage photos – although LeBron broke royal protocol by putting an arm around Kate for the snapshot!
It was all smiles for the group however, and LeBron even gave the couple a special team jersey for little Prince George customised with his name and the number ‘1’ along with a matching ‘Cambridge 7’ jersey for William and Kate.
They even met American music’s own royal couple Beyonce and Jay Z at the game, with Beyonce reportedly leading the way across the court to stop by for a quick chat.
This is William and Kate’s first royal visit to New York, and their programme has been action-packed. Over their three-day tour, they have worked with a range of charities, attended several events and also paid their respects at the 9/11 memorial site.
