There’s no denying it – Duchess Catherine’s brunette locks are enviable to people the world over, and there’s one little girl who just did the thing we’ve all thought about doing – she touched them.
During a visit with her husband Prince William to Scottish town Dundee, Kate greeted thousands of royal well-wishers as they arrived in the masses to catch a glimpse of the future King and Queen consort of England – but it was a young girl’s encounter with Kate that really captured everyone’s attention.
In an adorable photo, a young girl is seen sharing a sweet moment with the 37-year-old Duchess as she stroked a lock of her hair. Kate took it all in her stride, laughing and speaking to the young girl.
And that wasn’t the only special thing about the day for Kate and William.
The pair, who spent the day attending a number of special engagements, would have been feeling quite reminiscent given the town is a mere 15 miles north of the university town of St Andrews, which is where they met.
Kate, who re-wore her striking tartan Q by McQueen coat and dress which she first wore during a visit to St Andrew’s school in November 2012, looked ready for a busy day ahead as they first attended the public walkabout before visiting the newly built Victoria & Albert Museum, which they officially opened.
They later met workers from the Dundee Michelin factory.
Kate gave a speech at the end of the day’s events, declaring the museum officially open.
“I have been amazed by the breathtaking architecture and the sheer range of design on display,” she told guests.
“Most of all, I’ve been moved by the passion of the people who work here and the dedication of all those who have helped make this important project succeed.”
The new museum was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who met the couple and talked them through the design.
It’s been a busy start to 2019 for the two royals, who have attended a number of engagements across Britain and Europe over the last few weeks.
Last week Prince William travelled to Switzerland for the World Economic Forum where he discussed climate change with Sir David Attenborough and sat on the Mental Health Matters panel alongside New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Earlier, Kate attended the launch of UK charity Family Action’s new free national helpline FamilyLine, which is designed to support parents and carers.
The epitome of chic, Kate nailed the fashion stakes once again on the day, wearing an olive green dress from UK brand Beulah London, a brand the Duchess has worn several times before, donates 10 per cent of its profits to help victims of sex trafficking.
