It appears that nothing is sacred to some – Princess Diana’s intimate letters to her illicit lover are being hawked to the highest bidder according to Aol.
James Hewitt and Lady Di had a complicated relationship that spanned five years, during which time the Princess penned affectionate and intimate letters to James.
James publicly announced in 2003 during an interview with Larry King that he would sell the letters for $15 million, but he has since recanted this offer.
When questioned about this latest scandal he denied any knowledge of it, however LA based memorabilia dealer, Gary Zimet, confirmed that he is in negotiations to handle the sale of the letters.
A serious offer was reportedly made for $150,000, but James declined, with rumours circulating that the offer was not high enough.
After the scandal broke, James released a statement purporting that he will not part with the letters “until [he dies].”
