As the swarming paparazzi camp outside the hospital where Kate is resting up, the Twittersphere is being swamped with well wishes from celebrities.

“Aw so cute! Congrats!!!,” wrote Kim Kardashian. British pop singer Cheryl Cole – who previously admitted to having a crush on Prince William’s brother Harry – wrote: ”I’m sooooooo excited that we’re having a royal baby !!!! Congratulations to Kate and Wills !!!!!! (sic)”.

Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins added, “What lovely news!! Congratulations to the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge!! #PitterPatter (sic).”

“Will and Kate +1,” tweeted Ryan Seacrest, meanwhile Piers Morgan couldn’t help cracking a few jokes.

“Congratulations to every magazine editor for calling Kate Middleton’s pregnancy – especially those who did covers on it 11 months ago,” he wrote, followed by hearing rumours William and Kate are considering Piers as name for their child and “Any chance of the first interview @RoyalFoetus”

William has been by Kate’s side throughout her stay in hospital and was only spotted leaving the hospital at 8.15am UK time. Although palace officials say Kate is in no serious harm, she has been hooked up to an IV drip during her stay to replenish her nutrient and hydration levels after she experienced a severe and sustained bout of vomiting over the weekend.
