Writer and director James Gunn pulled out all the stops for the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
Chris Pratt returns as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, alongside the ensemble cast including Zoe Saldana, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, just to name a few.
In the third instalment of the franchise, the beloved band of misfits are settling into a quiet life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life—a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

What happened in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?

The first of the series, Guardians of the Galaxy begins with a young Peter Quill abducted from Earth by a group of alien thieves called the Ravagers, led by Yondu Udonta (portrayed by Michael Rooker). Peter obtains a powerful object simply called the orb and escapes but is then pursued by hostile forces. Along the way, Peter connects with a series of unlikely characters; Gamora (Zoe Saldaña), a skilled assassin; Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), a vengeful warrior; Rocket (Bradley Cooper), a genetically enhanced raccoon; and Groot (Vin Diesel), a sentient tree-like creature. Considered underdogs to the numerous bad guys of the Marvel Universe, the squad became known as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, released in 2017, continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Star-Lord’s origin story, taking a deep dive into his parentage, while keeping his newfound adopted family together as old foes become allies. Watch the sequel here.
