Kath & Kim star Magda Szubanski has given fans an update of her health status, quipping, “Seems I’m not dead!”
The beloved Australian actor revealed last year she’d been diagnosed with stage four Mantle cell lymphoma – a “fast-moving” form of blood cancer.
The 64-year-old told fans recently, “I’ve completed chemo and I am now in remission. So phew, big relief. It’s not a cure, but because I’ve got a good remission, that hopefully means that I will keep the cancer at bay for a good long time.”
The comedian pointed to her new short, grey hairstyle and joked, “Turns out I’m not a natural blonde. It does look like it may have previously belonged to Napoleon.”
She added that the “tsunami” of support fans gave her “helped me not only emotionally, I think it really helped me physically too”.
