Kate puts her foot down over Prince William’s family feud

The princess has put her foot down over her husband’s bitter family feud

While Prince Harry and his kids were enjoying an emotional reunion with the King at Highgrove House, his estranged brother, the Prince of Wales, was just a short drive away in Windsor Great Park, competing in the Royal Charity Polo Cup, with his adoring wife cheering from the sidelines.

After William’s win, he and the Princess of Wales, both 44, were all smiles, but behind the scenes, palace insiders tell us the prince’s ongoing estrangement from his little brother and his decision not to reconnect after four years of silence have taken an emotional toll on the couple.

Kate’s keeping Wills’ stress in check.

Kate’s tough love

“It’s tearing Kate apart to see William so upset and angry all the time,” reveals one well-placed source.

“She’s tried everything – she’s listened, sympathised and encouraged him to talk it through – but nothing seems to work.”

Now she’s taken the no-nonsense step of telling her husband of 15 years “to snap out of it” because his erratic behaviour is pushing their family to breaking point.

Kate’s keeping Wills’ stress in check.

When stress spills over

“She told him to stop letting all this stress impact his mood because it’s affecting everyone around him,” our insider adds.

“The last thing she or the kids need is to see him moping around all the time.”

Although Kate knows Wills sufficiently to realise a lot of his anger is masking the deep pain and hurt he has over his feud with Harry, she’s decided enough is enough.

Looking into the positives

The source says, “He puts so much pressure on himself, so it’s hardly surprising he struggles to keep a lid on his emotions. People mistake it for having a temper, but Kate knows it’s actually sadness. “William’s learnt to protect himself and never to show weakness, but anyone who knows him well will tell you he’s an incredibly gentle soul. That’s why it’s hard for Kate to see him so consumed with bitterness.”

Feeling fitter and happier than she has in a long time after successfully completing a challenge to climb the UK’s three highest peaks within 24 hours, Kate’s now taking some practical steps to help Wills work through his emotional blocks. That includes encouraging him to spend more time outdoors and developing a regular yoga practice.

Our insider adds, “She’s told him he needs to get out of this horrible headspace and, in her view, committing to a serious exercise regime is the answer. She also wants him to give yoga a proper try because he clearly needs a better way to cope with this stress.”
