How much of the Alien franchise did you know before you took on this role?

Honestly, I hadn’t seen any of the films. My introduction was through [show writer] Noah Hawley’s scripts, which was quite a unique way to enter the world! Once I was cast, my brother was immediately like, “We are watching every single film right now. Get your laptop out!”

Exploring the horrors in space with co-star Lily Newmark.

What was the shoot like?

Long but incredible. We started shooting in June 2023 for a few months, then were stopped due to the Screen Actors Guild strikes. We started production again in February 2024 and filmed in Bangkok for six months. Working with the Thai and other international crews was a huge highlight of the shoot. The sets were enormous and so immersive – each day there were around 400 crew members. It was huge.

What was it like seeing the Alien creature on set?

It was terrifying! The Xenomorph monster is actually played by an amazing Kiwi stunt performer called Cameron Brown, who was incredible. Cam is just the kindest – and he also happens to be vegan, so it was quite funny that he was inside this seven-foot [2.13m] monster!
