Lorde has announced six Kiwi shows as part of her upcoming world tour to celebrate the release of her new album Melodrama, with even more dates to come.
Taking to Twitter to share the exciting news, the Kiwi singer-songwriter wrote: “It’s starting. Europe, UK, NZ, Australia – let’s dance.”
To celebrate, Lorde also released a new single, “Sober” from Melodrama on streaming services. The record – a follow-up to her 2013 debut Pure Heroine – is due for release on June 16th.
Lorde will be playing shows at Dunedin’s Town Hall, Christchurch’s Isaac Theatre Royal, Wellington’s Michael Fowler Centre and three shows at Auckland’s Powerstation in November as part of the tour.
In a video accompanying the announcement, the singer said she was “so excited to be coming home” for the tour.
“I think we’re gonna have a blast, I can’t wait to see you,” she said.
Tickets will be available from midday Monday, June 19 for Lorde’s New Zealand shows. Fans can sign up to get pre-sale information at the official website, with the pre-sale starting June 13 from midday (NZ time).
The New Zealand dates are as follows:
November 7: Town Hall, Dunedin
November 8: Isaac Theatre Royal, Christchurch
November 11: Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington
November 12: Powerstation, Auckland
