The Block stars Kyal and Kara have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The couple, who were fan favourites on the eighth season of the Australian home renovation show when it screened in New Zealand, posted a photo of their new arrival on Instagram, revealing his name – Ziya.
“Here he is! Ziya Christopher Demmrich. Weighing 8.5 lbs. 51cm long,” Kyal wrote.
“Best miracle I’ve ever seen. Extra special being able to help guide him out then cut the cord! Kara was a legend through the whole thing. Admiration levels are now through the roof.”
Halfway through her pregnancy, Kara candidly told her 124,000 followers that she was flip-flopping between being super excited about the impending arrival of their little one, to completely “freaking out”.
The couple started dating when they were just teenagers, and married four years later in 2008.
