Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, American ballerina Melanie Hamrick, is pregnant with the rockstar’s eighth child, his rep has confirmed.

“This is great news. It will be Mick’s eighth child and nothing fazes him. He’s been incredibly supportive,” a spokesperson for Mick told The Sun.

The spokesperson added that 29-year-old Melanie, who has been 72-year-old Mick since 2014, is “very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life”.

“She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can’t wait for him to be a dad again.”

It’s been reported that Melanie and Mick will welcome their little bundle of joy in January 2017. The tiny tot will join older siblings Lizzy, 32, James, 30, Georgia May, 24 and Gabriel, 18, from Mick’s relationship with ex-partner Jerry Hall.

The rocker also has 44-year-old daughter Jade with ex-wife Bianca Jagger and 45-year-old daughter Karis with ex Marsha Hunt. Mick also has a 16-year-old son named Lucas, from a relationship with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez Mora.

The Daily Mail reports that Melanie won’t be moving to Mick’s home of London when the baby is born, but instead is planning to relocate to Los Angeles, where Mick spends much of his time, or Connecticut, where her own family is based.

However, sources say Mick “will love and support this child” regardless of Melanie’s chosen living arrangements.

Mick isn’t the only Rolling Stones star to have announced some big baby news recently. Bandmate Ronnie Wood, 69, is now a father of six after welcoming twin daughters Gracie Jane and Alice Rose with his wife, 38-year-old Sally Humphreys, in late May.
