Lady Mary has revealed in a new interview that a Downton Abbey movie might actually be a reality.

Michelle Dockery, who made a name for herself on the immensely popular period drama, told Britain’s The Telegraph she thinks there’s definite potential for a film version.

“That is something I would wholeheartedly consider,” said the 34-year-old actress. “It may not be over yet,” she added.

But despite saying Downton will always have a special place in her heart, Michelle also said she’s enjoying playing her new role in US drama Good Behaviour.

“It was very fortunate for me that this came along at the right time. It wasn’t a conscious decision to do something so totally different from Lady Mary but I was completely hooked on the script from the first page and I loved the complexity of the character.

“Downton Abbey was an incredible journey for six years and we were very sad to say goodbye, but it was the right time and it was very exciting actually leaving and going on to something like this and a whole new path in my career.”

Good Behaviour is set to hit US screens later this year, though there’s no word yet on when it might make it over to Kiwi shores.
