The gorgeous gown was a custom Calvin Klein Collection design and featured 6,000 pearls – and memorably, it has only just had its turn in the spotlight at the 87th Academy Awards where Lupita was a presenter.
Sadly, the dramatic dress has been reported stolen from the actress’ room at The London Hotel in West Hollywood. E! confirms police received a call at 11.23pm on Wednesday night about the disappearance of the gown, which is valued at $150,000.
“This is a terribly unfortunate situation, and we are working with law enforcement on their investigation,” a statement from the hotel reads.
The LAPD has begun their investigation and will reportedly be looking at both surveillance footage as well as interviews with staff and witnesses at the scene.
