Lewis Hamilton slams Sky City casino

The racing star has taken to Twitter to blast the Auckland casino

Yesterday, Lewis Hamilton shared his excitement at visiting New Zealand for the very first time, but it looks like the world champion had a less than pleasant experience at Auckland’s biggest casino.

In a now-deleted tweet, the 31-year-old blasted the centre and branded it the “worst casino experience” he’d ever had.

“Don’t ever go to the sky city casino in Auckland, they treated me like dirt. Can’t believe how rude they were. Worst casino experience ever!” he wrote on Monday night.

Lewis, who is preparing to compete in the upcoming Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne in just a few days, ended up deleting the heated tweet shortly afterwards and has yet to offer any further explanation. The British Formula One star is thought to be staying at the Sky City Grand Hotel.

Representatives for Sky City have since issued an official apology to Lewis.

“Sky City is very sorry to hear Lewis Hamilton didn’t enjoy himself at our casino last night – we pride ourselves on providing an excellent level of service to all our customers,” spokeswoman Kelly Armitage told Stuff.

“We are following up with Mr Hamilton to get further details of his experience.”

Lewis shared this footage of his arrival in New Zealand on Snapchat yesterday.
