As speculation around whether or not Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is pregnant with new love Liam Payne’s child continues to grow, Kimberley Walsh has gushed about her pal’s motherly nature.

Speaking to The Sunday People, Kimberley – who is expecting her second child with husband Justin Scott – revealed that Cheryl is “naturally good” with kids.

“She’s really happy right now. And she’ll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children.

“Both she and Nicola [Roberts, also from Girls Aloud] are naturally good with kids,” she gushed.

The singer’s comments are likely to add even more fuel to the rumour mill surrounding Cheryl and Liam’s relationship.

Cheryl and Liam have been totally loved-up in their red carpet appearances together.

Last month, Liam sent fans into a frenzy when he changed his Twitter bio to declare that he was “the luckiest man in the world”, amid continuing speculation over his relationship with The X Factor judge.

Earlier this month, Cheryl also set tongues wagging as she stepped out at a L’Oreal party in Paris. The star donned a black jumpsuit with matching cape that flaunted her curves.

The singer posed side-on with other ambassadors for the range.

The outing comes after Cheryl appeared in a commercial for the beauty brand in September, with fans commenting on her seemingly fuller-faced appearance in the clip.

Meanwhile, Kimberley isn’t the only pal of Cheryl’s to have spoken out about how she would make a great mum.

Simon Cowell also seemed to be hinting that Cheryl, 33, would be ready to welcome a little bundle of joy of her own when he spoke to The Mirror.

Now and then: Cheryl’s appearance in the advert (right) drove fans into a frenzy.

“Cheryl would be an amazing mum. I have seen her with my son Eric and other kids over the years and she is incredible,” he said.

“She is very good with them. I think she is in a good place in her life right now. I had dinner with her a couple of months ago with Liam and they were great.”

Cheryl and Liam, 23, were first linked together in February. They first met in 2008, when Liam was 14 years and old and Cheryl was 24, when he auditioned for The X Factor UK. He would later return in 2010, where he was grouped with Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan to form the boyband One Direction.
