The More FM radio host told listeners what happened from his hospital bed, where he is recovering after having a stent put in. He said getting better would depend on total bed rest for the next few weeks.
“Thought I was quite healthy, and I looked after myself. It’s a lesson for all of us that you never take your health for granted,” he aid in a recorded message just hours after his heart attack.
“All I could think of were my kids and Janine and family. That’s just the biggest injection of what’s important.”
Just days before the scary incident, Gunn was in high spirits, sharing jokes with his social media followers.

This time last year Gunn, who is a dad of four, was in hospital after breaking his back in a wheelie bin incident.
After the accident, he told the Weekly how greatful he was to be okay.
“[The back] is just always the first thing to give way when you’re doing something strenuous,” he says.
“It’s definitely been a year of it! But I tell you what, I’ve never been more grateful for my health. I was sitting around the dinner table with the kids the other night, and said, ‘I’ve never felt more grateful for my life.’”
