Some of the biggest stars in the movie industry stepped out over the weekend to attend the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart.
The pair kicked off the ceremony with a bang with a lavish Mad Max: Fury Road-style opening number that saw the two come in atop a giant truck surrounded by dancers painted in white to mimic the raucous ‘War Boys’ from the movie.
Big winners on the night included Star Wars: The Force Awakens which took home Movie of the Year, Breakthrough Performance for star Daisy Ridley and Best Villain for Adam Driver. Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds won Best Comedic Performance for his role in Deadpool, and Charlize Theron scored Best Female Performance for Mad Max. Will Smith was honoured with the MTV Generation Award while Melissa McCarthy crowd-surfed towards the stage to collect her gong for Comedic Genius award, the first woman to ever take home the trophy.
