The New Zealand public were fascinated by the Lawson quins, particularly in their youth. Their every outing and celebration created huge amounts of interest. The Weekly captured many of the quins’ activities as they grew, including a day trip to a neighbouring farm.
Ann was a devoted mother to the quins, who credit her parenting for the strong bond they still have today.
“Those early years were wonderful,” says Deborah, of the period in which her parents Ann and Sam were still together.
Older sister Leeann had her own set of quin dolls.
