The studio has confirmed they will be rebooting their much-loved 1991 movie and Emma, 24, will be taking on the lead role as the feisty book-loving heroine.
The Noah star shared the happy news on her Facebook page, with a touching message about how much the Disney movie meant to her as a child.
“My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting,” the actress wrote.

It appears the Noah star will be tackling the classic songs from the original film as well – and we can’t wait to hear Emma’s take on all the old favourites!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by Twilight helmer Bill Condon and will go into production this year.
