These stars love showing off their ink! From Lady Gaga to David Beckham, we’re taking a look at the celebrities who have debuted their tattoos on social media and the meaning behind their body art.

While there’s definitely a trend of delicate tattoo designs, other stars have also opted to cover more of their skin with their ink. David Beckham is famously tatted up with two full ‘sleeves’, and One Direction’s Liam Payne looks to be following in his footsteps with his own growing collection of tattoos.

In a recent Instagram post, Courteney Cox’s fiancé, Johnny McDaid shows off his fresh ink – he got her initials tattooed on his wrist.

Miley Cyrus shows off her new tattoo of the planet Saturn – which she originally mistakenly identified as Jupiter – on Instagram.

The singer also got tattoos with her mother, Tish.

Liam Payne’s tattoo artist, Nikko Hurtado, recently posted this photo of clocks he tattooed onto the singer’s arm.

Tattoo artist Justin Lewis recently completed a tattoo on Prince Jackson’s back. The artist posted this photo of Prince on his Instagram page.

Prince’s sister Paris also has some ink of her own – including this lotus flower honouring her grandmother.

Three weeks ago Paris also revealed she had a quote from her late father Michael Jackson inked on her arm saying, “Queen of my heart.” The 18 year-old wrote: “To everyone else he was the King of Pop. To me, well, he was the king of my heart.”

Lady Gaga’s tattoo artist shared this photo a symbol (representing ‘unity’) he inked onto the singer’s shoulder. Gaga revealed she got the tattoo to match the 50 sexual assault survivors who joined her on stage at the Academy Awards earlier this year, for her performance of the song ‘Till It Happens To You’.

Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik has plenty of real tattoos, but he later revealed that this polarising ‘M.O.M’ design on the side of his face was a fake.

Joe Jonas has added to his collection of tattoos with this image of a hand coming out of a triangle, which he shared with his Instagram followers earlier this year.

Adam Levine’s wife, Behati Prinsloo, shared this look at her hubby’s extensive back tattoo, which features a winged mermaid cradling a skull.

Modern Family star Ariel Winter revealed this glimpse of the tattoo inked across her right hip, explaining that it was this quote: “Love Risks Everything And Asks For Nothing”.

The actress also shared this photo of her “most special” tattoo – the initials of her nieces and nephews printed on her ribcage.

David Beckham’s extensive collection of tattoos is well-known, but at the end of March he shared this glimpse of a new tattoo inked on his ankle by celeb-fave tattoo parlour Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood.

The soccer star has over 30 tattoos on his body, including many paying tribute to his wife Victoria and children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Drew Barrymore recently had her daughters’ names (Olive and Frankie) inked on her wrist.

Lea Michele got this touching ‘5’ tattoo as a tribute to her late boyfriend and Glee co-star Cory Monteith, whose character Finn wore the number 5 jersey in his role as high school quarterback.

The actress also posted this shot of a coffee cup inked on her finger as a tribute to her grandmother, who sadly passed away this year.
