Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shocked the world with the news of their split today, after two years of marriage and over a decade together.
While both stars have said they will not be commenting on the particulars of their impending divorce, Angelina’s attorney has said the decision to split “was made for the health of her family”. The couple famously share six children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Right from the start, their romance – which was later revealed to have begun on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2004 – generated countless headlines, coming as it did on the heels of Brad’s split from Friends star Jennifer Aniston.
Despite the tabloid frenzy their relationship created, however, Brad and Angelina were undeniably one of Hollywood’s power couples and walked many a red carpet together, arm-in-arm and seemingly blissfully in love.
