While the “9 To 5” singer’s own goddaughter Miley Cyrus has put her hand up from the beginning it’s Broadway superstar Kristen Chenoweth and wildcard Anne Hathaway who look to be the lead contenders.
“Dolly gets to choose who plays her, and she’s shocked at how hard Kristin and Anne are campaigning,” says a source.

Both Kristen, 47, and Anne aren’t above sucking up to get what they want, with the duo bombarding the country icon with flowers and phone calls. The Devil Wears Prada actress, 33, has even used her younger age to sway the vote – even suggesting she is a stronger singer – but sources say she may want to be careful of her next move. “Dolly has a heart of gold, and she doesn’t like that kind of mean-girl behaviour.”
While no decision has been made, it looks like the former Glee actress could be the one to take it out. “Anne is an Oscar winner, but Kristen looks more like Dolly, has that country twang and her voice is spectacular,” adds the insider. “In many ways, Kristin is a no-brainer.”
