Duchess Meghan has revealed some tantalising details about the royal baby and how she’s been coping with pregnancy. The new information came during a public walkabout in the town of Birkenhead in Merseyside overnight, where she and Prince Harry met with a number of local community organisations.
While speaking to members of the public, Meghan confirmed that she is six months pregnant and that their baby is due in late April. There has long been speculation that the Duchess was due in April but this is the first official confirmation received. When their baby news was announced in October, Kensington Palace only revealed was that Meghan was “expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” (Autumn in New Zealand).

The visit to Birkenhead marked the Duke and Duchess’ first official engagement of the year together. They reportedly spent 45 minutes interacting with members of the crowd – their first joint walkabout since their visit to New Zealand in October.
“We asked her how her pregnancy was going and she said she was six months and she tapped her tummy,” Carla Gandy told People magazine.
Meghan, 37, also revealed that she and Harry didn’t know the sex of the baby, and wanted it to be a surprise.
The Duchess acknowledged her husband Harry, pointing to him and saying “He’s going to make a fantastic father.”
One woman, who declined to be named, told People magazine that Meghan had “said her pregnancy had gone so quickly. I asked her how she was coping on those high heels. She said, ‘One day at a time!'”
Another well-wisher, Jean Elliott, told the Duchess she thought she was having a girl. “Meghan said there are ‘strong opinions about that, but it’s a 50/50 split!'” she said.

It was a busy day for the royal couple. They attended four events, including the opening of a new premises of Number 7, a citizen’s supermarket and community café. They also visited Tomorrow’s Women Wirral, an organisation that supports women in vulnerable circumstances, where Meghan made a speech.
“We really believe in the work that Tomorrow’s Women is doing but having spoken to all of you, we very much believe in each and every one of you,” Meghan said. “You are an inspiration to so many people.”

Meghan is expected to work up until close to her due date. Last week Kensington Palace announced that she had been made the patron of four charities.
Two of the patronages, the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, had been bestowed to her by the Queen herself who held them for 45 and 33 years respectively.
“The Duchess is delighted to become Patron of both national and grassroots organisations that are part of the fabric of the UK, and is very much looking forward to working with them to bring wider public attention to their causes.
“Her Royal Highness feels she can use her position to focus attention on, and make a particular difference to these organisations and, more widely, the sectors they each represent.”
