No one likes to spend their holiday hanging around in airports, but a good one can make all the different to your journey.
Anyone who’s spent time in LAX will appreciate that this is not a nice way to break your journey, but some of the sparkling and clean versions in Asia can really kick your travels off with a bang.
Skytrax has now released their list of the top international airports, based on thousands of passenger surveys.
So how does NZ fare against other nations?
Auckland International, despite lacking many of the designer stores of some of the top airports, came in at number 22, whereas Christchurch came in at 61.
Singapore’s Changi airport came out top for the fifth year in a row, and it’s easy to see why.
The facility has two free 24 hour movie theatres, a rooftop swimming pool, eight gardens and even a butterfly garden.
They even have a rest room for if you don’t want to fork out for a hotel, but would like a place to be horizontal for a while.
