Tom Hanks is not one to skirt his civic responsibilities. Although many celebrities may have found a reason to avoid jury duty, the Academy Award-winning actor is currently sitting in the jury box for an intense domestic violence case in an LA court.
Sources told website TMZ that Tom wore a black long-sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans, and black-rimmed glasses to court where he was seen “assiduously taking notes about the case” and was listening closely to a witness’ testimony. The courts may be familiar turf for Tom, who won an Oscar in 1993 for Philadelphia, a film about a gay lawyer suffering from AIDS, who was forced to take legal action against his discriminatory bosses.
