We are now coming to the end of the series.
And although I’ve loved being part of it, I’m not sad it’s over.
We have achieved what we set out to do, which was to entertain New Zealand over almost three months.
We gave a lot of Kiwis their 15 minutes of fame – and showed just how much talent we have in the country.
So there it is Aotearoa, these are your people!
And what a unique bunch they are. I loved the Black Trio, although I wasn’t sure about the death metal at the end!
I was having a great time in happy reggae world – then suddenly, wow!
Whatever happens to the talent, I’m sure there will be some who won’t go back to their old life. Jenny Mitchell from Gore will be one of those.
Country music seems to be such a great place to start for girls with guitars, and she’s no exception.
She has learned so much since her first audition.
Some of the shyer candidates, such as Rob Innes, simply don’t have the ability to take a stage like she does. And I think we’ve helped put Identity Dance Crew on the map, too.
They’ll go on to do amazing things.
While I really hope some of the contestants realise their dreams, not everyone can cope with fame.
Some, though, like Oceana, will come out of this competition a different person.
The wee one’s disabilities don’t affect her voice. She has a huge career ahead of her.
I know Geordie was good competition, but she really is very talented.
There are some pretty amazing dancers and Silhouette just keep on delivering. I think people might fall in love with this couple, if they haven’t already.
Married with a couple of kids, they come from different ends of the spectrum, but on stage they display this arresting, unbreakable bond.
You can almost hear him counting dance steps as she prances around, but he delivers the goods. He always catches her – it’s the most beautiful love story.
So, as I said, I’m not sad it’s ending.
We’ve helped people make a difference, and provided some great entertainment.
That’s good enough for me.
