Sinéad o’Connor tied the knot on her 45th birthday to fellow Dubliner Barry Herridge in a drive-thru wedding at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer wore a pink, low-cut dress that revealed her tattoos, while the groom donned a dark jacket and pink shirt for the 10-minute ceremony.
“She wanted to do the whole thing in a Cadillac. That was her thing,” a source says.
“It wasn’t a traditional dress, but it wasn’t a traditional wedding either. She cried during the vows and had to wipe her eyes.”
Sinéad revealed her wedding plans on Wednesday, writing on her blog, “With enormous joy myself and my beloved boyfriend Barry Herridge will be getting married tomorrow, December 8, 2011 at an un-disclosed location in my absolute dream wedding ceremony. We will post a photo or two here on the site as soon as possible afterward. Very happy girl.”
The singer has four children from previous relationships and has already been married to musician John Reynolds in 1987, journalist Nicholas Sommerlad in 2001 and longtime friend and collaborator Steve CMoney in July 2010.
