Rupert Grint has revealed that he’s not a fan of the older ‘Harry Potter’ movies because he doesn’t like watching himself get older onscreen. The flame haired actor has played Harry’s friend Ron Weasley since 2001 when he was just 12 years old.
“It’s weird – like having a big home movie.” Says Rupert. “If the old films are on TV, I’ll glimpse slightly but I’ve never watched one all the way through.”
The actor, who is now 21 years old, has also admitted he was concerned about being typecast by the Harry Potter franchise which is why – with filming of the final ‘Harry Potter’ film coming to a close – he took on a completely different role in the comedy ‘Wild Target’.
“I guess it was one of the reasons I did ‘Wild Target’ because it was kind of a way out,” says Rupert. “We’ve been so long in this bubble and now we have to walk away from it all. It’s important to do different things and stretch out.’
