President Obama set to feature on Coldplay’s latest album

He truly is the president of cool.

Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow and Noel Gallagher are some of the big names that have contributed to Coldplay’s latest album.

But the featured artist everyone is talking about is none other than President Barack Obama!

The multi-talented president broke out into song during his eulogy for Rev. Clementa Pinckney, a pastor killed with eight others in a shooting in Charleston earlier this year.

A portion of his moving rendition of Amazing Grace will feature on Coldplay’s album, “A Head Full of Dreams”.

“We have a tiny clip of the President singing Amazing Grace at that church,” Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, told The Sun.

The sample of the president’s performance will be included in the song Kaleidoscope. Obama is not credited, but the band notes the “kind permission” of Rev. Dr. Norvel Goff Sr., for the clip.

Martin said the band included the section “because of the historical significance” of it and because the song is “about ‘I’m lost, but now I’m found.’”

The president’s performance very nearly didn’t happen. White House adviser Valerie Jarrett has said the president warned her and first lady Michelle that he might be moved into song, but it would depend on the mood of the crowd.

“We’ll see how it feels at the time,” he said.

A clip of the head of state’s moving tribute (above) has been viewed more than 2.7 million times.

Coldplay’s album, “A Head Full of Dreams”, is set to be released on December 4.
