It sounds like the plot out of a bad Austin Powers movie, but in real life author Damon Lloyd Goffee is suing oprah Winfrey and her production company Harpo for $1.9 trillion dollars. Damon has accused oprah and Harp for stealing material from his work titled ‘A Tome of Poetry’ and publishing it under the name ‘Pieces of my Soul’. According to legal documents Goffe says that the talk-show host actually admitted to the thievery in 2008 and that having sold over 650 million editions of the world at $30 a copy, that he is entitled to this vast sum. It will be interesting to see what the most powerful woman in showbiz – and her no doubt substantial legal team – have to say about that.
