Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi has become a mother for the first time. The 27-year-old daughter of Princess Caroline gave birth to a son yesterday at Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco.
Charlotte and her French actor, Gad Elmaleh (42), have named their baby Raphaël.
The president of the Monaco National Council, Laurent Nouvion, announced Raphaël’s birth at a late meeting of the High Assembly. “The royal family has a new member,” he said.
Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco have already visited Charlotte and the baby in the hospital, and mother and son are said to be doing well.
Raphaël is the second baby to be born into the Monaco royal family this year, and the second grandson for Caroline (56). Her son Andrea and his wife Tatiana Santo Domingo welcomed their son Sacha in March.
