Despite her recent film flop Glitter', Mariah Carey is due to star in new indie drama Tennessee’. Mariah’s new role is a waitress who sets out on a journey to seek her father’s help in saving her cancer-suffering younger brother. The director of the film, Aaron Woodley, justifies his casting decision by saying, “I never saw Glitter', but I liked her work in WiseGirls’. Because this character is interracial and struggles with all sorts of issues because of that, I thought she was perfect.” [28 February 2006]
