Desperate Housewives’ star Marcia Cross is determined to be the perfect housewife – mirroring her uptight character Bree Van De Kamp in the hit series. The actress – who is expecting twins with her stockbroker husband Tom oahoney – admits she is useless in the kitchen but wants to learn how to cook because she thinks it’s the way to a man’s heart. She says, “I think men instinctively look to their women for food, so I’m starting to learn to cook. I never did it before because I was just too busy. But now, well, I’m starting to think ahead a little and to shop.” She adds, “I can steam vegetables and make chicken, and last week I made some pasta. And sure enough I saw Tom was gobbling it up, and I thought, ‘Aha – that’s the way to their heart ¬- you’ve got to keep them fed!’ So I better buck up then.” [25 october 2006]
