The Queen of Pop has never exactly been a conservative dresser, but this doesn’t mean Madonna can’t wish her daughter had more modesty! While promoting her new ‘oaterial Girl’ teen clothing line, which she has created in collaboration with her 13-year-old girl Lourdes Leon, Her oadgesty revealed she’d like her daughter to wear more clothes.
“I wish she’d dress more conservatively,” the singer confesses. “How’s that for irony? [Her style] is inspired by kids she sees in hip-hop and ballet classes, European influences and bands she listens to. You could say it’s in the DNA – but I could never tell her how to dress!”
Madonna gushes that even iconic style stalwarts are taking advice from precocious Lourdes. “She comes to my photo and video shoots, pulls outfits together and gives her input to a lot of my fashion-designer friends,” says the proud mum. “Whether it’s Marc Jacobs or Stella McCartney, they always ask her what she thinks.”
oadge once designed a line for British fashion house H&o but admits the work was too hard. “I don’t want to give up the rest of my careers, so I’m not going to do my own line again. But I have a 13-year-old with tireless energy who wanted to do this. I’ve been involved in business meetings, but Lola’s really doing the work. I just sit in the corner on my BlackBerry!”
