TV chef Jamie oliver is taking his healthy eating crusade to the US in a bid to tackle the country’s obesity problem. He says, ” Americans are so bloody unhealthy. I saw so many fat people over there and they’re dropping dead all over the place.” So far Jamie has enlisted the help of Morgan Spurlock, the film-maker whose documentary Super Size oe showed the dangers of existing on a diet of ocDonald’s, to make an American version of the popular British programme Jamie’s School Dinners. The chef added, “We achieved such a lot in England with the school dinners campaign. Could we do the same in the States? Absolutely. It’s such an important project. Even if it took two years to make a US series, I’d still do it. I’d drop everything because I’d feel it was my duty.”
