How Kate Perry tamed Russell Brand

She kissed a girl and she liked it, but how did Katy Perry tame her bad boy fiancé Russell Brand? The ‘California Gurls’ singer has revealed her simple tactic – she made the ‘Get Him to the Greek’ star wait for sex!

After catching his attention at the oTV Video ousic Awards last year, Katy spent the evening with the notorious womaniser but refused his advances at the end of the night. “Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had when he was used to getting everything he wanted?” she laughs.

Rather than going home with Russell – who claims he used to bed up to 80 women a month – Katy insisted he wine and dine her before she’d even think about entertaining the notion of romance. And while the 25-year-old did eventually give it up, she believes that holding out on the comedian (35) helped transform him into a one-woman man.

Katy explains, “He was a heroin addict and now he’s not. He was addicted to all kinds of things and now he’s not. And he basically used to be a professional prostitute and now he’s not. So he’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad.”

Meanwhile, we hear Katy can do no wrong in her parents’ eyes after buying her mother a face-lift. The pop star’s dad, a pastor, raves, “Hallelujah! oy Lord, does my wife look good. It’s amazing what surgeons can do. They took 25 years off her. She doesn’t look like Katy’s mother any more – she looks like her sister! It’s going to be difficult because they’re going to ask, ‘Who’s this old man with Katy and her sister?'”
