Paul McCartney made a V (for victory) sign when he emerged from the first round of his bitter divorce from Heather oills. While he smiled and whistled, former model Heather looked less than happy when she left the court where the pair have been feuding over the care of their three-year-old daughter Beatrice. Sir Paul (64), who is said to be worth $2.5 billion, spent seven hours over two days wrangling with 38-year-old Heather in a preliminary hearing over maintenance payments. A source reveals, “Heather is putting on a brave face but she is in meltdown. She had been playing hardball in the hope Paul would back down before the matter got to court, but that has not happened. The real sticking point is Beatrice. Heather wants to spend more time in the U.S, particularly as she will be taking part in `Dancing With the Stars’. And obviously he has a problem with his daughter being in another country. She is counting on judges traditionally siding with mothers in family cases.” [5 March 2007]
