Spice Girl Geri Halliwell kept her 40th birthday low-key this week, perhaps saving all her energy for the Olympic closing ceremony.
Geri was spotted out having a quiet dinner in London with her mother Ana Maria and daughter Bluebell. It appeared that Geri kept things in the family on her special day – absent from her side was her rumoured boyfriend Wilfred Frost, son of TV inteviewer Sir David Frost.

“Having such a lovely birthday, thanks to you all. Xxxxx,” she tweeted earlier in the day, posting a photo of a partially devoured birthday cake.
Geri is rumoured to be reuniting with her fellow Spice Girls to perform in the Olympics closing ceremony. Insiders say Victoria Beckham was apprehensive about the gig causing friction amongst the girls, but agreed to be a part of the ceremony on the proviso that it would be the Spice Girls’ last performance. Earlier in the week Posh appeared to have gotten over some of her unease, and tweeted “Look what I found,” next to a photo of her sparkly Spice Girls microphone.
