Dirty politics and espionage taint the all-American values our superhero stands for, making him a target for enemies of the state – new and old. Once labelled the bland hero of the Avengers squad for his goody-two-shoes approach, Captain America’s not afraid to get his hands dirty in the sequel, which packs more punches than its predecessor. This film keeps the story grounded, eliminating many of the camp, fun elements comic-book movies are known for. A powerful and at times thought-provoking watch.
