CD Review: Paramore and Michael Bublé

Paramore cover

**PARAMORE

PARAMORE**

After losing two founding members, Paramore’s self-titled fourth release is a deliberate move to separate themselves from their old ways as they start

over as a trio. Opening with Fast in My Car, Hayley Williams sets the tone – fun, edgy pop-rock that shies away from their angsty roots. However, there’s an underlying tone of anger on some tracks, including Grow Up and Be Alone – no doubt aimed at the departed members – but now there’s more flirty femininity injected into their sound, particularly on Still Into You. 3/5 stars

**TO BE LOVED

MICHAEL BUBLÉ**

Featuring something old, something new, a lot of borrowed material but never the blues, Michael Bublé’s sixth album is a romantic overload – but it’s hard not to love this cheeseball crooner. Featuring covers of classics from Dean Martin and The Bee Gees, plus four original tracks (including

After All with Bryan Adams), this is Bublé doing what he does best. Something Stupid, a cover of Frank and Nancy Sinatra’s hit, is a duet with actress Reese Witherspoon and the star’s soft vocals are a treat to hear. 3/5 stars
