Oprah Winfrey is working with Brad Pitt on the Dr Martin Luther King biopic, Selma. The TV mogul and star of The Butler is taking a behind-the-scenes role for the film that is being produced by Brad’s company Plan B.
The film will focus on protest marches led by the renowned civil rights activist in Alabama in the 1960s and will star David Oyelowo as Dr King.
Director Ava DuVernay spoke of Oprah’s involvement, saying she was passionate about civil rights history.* *
“It’s a subject matter close to her heart,” said Ava. “The producers are behind some of the most forward-thinking movies of last year and they are all coming together.”
