BOOK REVIEW: Finding Audrey

Tackling the issue of bullying among teens in a careful way, this novel offers hope and inspiration.
Book cover of Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

Although aimed at teens, Sophie Kinsella’s latest novel is so on-topic, so witty and its mordant feature character so broken and lovable, readers of any age will enjoy it.

Audrey is a virtual shut-in since a severe bullying incident at her high school left her traumatised and unable to communicate with anyone but her family.

Eye contact is so difficult she wears sunglasses constantly, and when she tries to have a conversation with her brother’s cute friend Linus, she resorts to writing notes.

Gradually, helped by her therapist and her delightful family, she sees the chance of a brighter future: without sunglasses.
