Annie Lennox marries for the third time

It’s three times lucky for Annie Lennox. The Eurythmics singer tied the knot for the third time to gynaecologist Dr Mitch Besser in an intimate ceremony on boat on the River Thames.

Annie (57) wore a white floor length gown, lace bolero shrug and a 1920s headpiece for the private ceremony and her daughters Lola (22) and Tali (19) acted as bridesmaids. Celebrity guests at the ceremony included The King’s Speech actor Colin Firth and comedienne Ruby Wax. Later in the night guests danced to classic 1980s tracks such as Madonna’s Like a Virgin. “It was just a really relaxed, friendly occasion – everyone seemed happy, especially Annie, who was beaming,” says a source.

Annie met South African Mitch in 2009 after working with his charity Mothers2mothers, which helps children and single mothers who suffer from Aids.

Mitch, who has two teenage sons of his own, was married when he first began his relationship with Annie. Debra Jackson, his wife of 28 years, filed for divorce last year after pictures emerged of him walking hand-in-hand with the Sweet Dreams singer.

Annie, who was married to German Hare Krishna devotee Radha Raman for one year and Israeli film and record producer Uri Frutmann for 12 years, once declared she would never wed again after her first two marriages ended in heartache.
