Two men with severe disabilities have touched the hearts of thousands, after photos of their devoted friendship have gone viral.
Jia Haixia, who is blind, and his friend Jia Wenqi, who is a double amputee, have spent the past ten years helping each other to plan trees in their village.
By Wenqi acting as his friend’s eyes, and Haixia acting as Wenqi’s arms, they have been working to transform a barren area of land in their village in to a beautiful forest.
Yeli village in northeastern China is prone to flooding, and the trees will help to prevent the area from the worst of the water damage.
Each day, the pair work together to plant trees, refusing to let their disabilities hold them back.
Haixia was born blind in one eye, and lost the other in a workplace accident years later. While his friend Wenqi lost both arms in an accident when he was just a toddler.
The pair estimate they have planted over 1,000 trees since starting their mission a decade ago.
