Brazilian cleaner Meirivone Rocha Moraes is a regular figure in the news, thanks to her rather bizarre marriage – to a ragdoll named Marcelo. When we last spoke to her in October 2024, the couple was parents to three kids, son Marcelinho, plus twin daughters Marcela and Emilia, and they were going through a rough patch due to his alleged infidelity.
Now Meirivone, 38, reveals they’re expecting a fourth child, but it hasn’t helped their marriage – she suspects Marcelo has been cheating on her once again!
“Being married to a rag doll isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” she says.
“Marcelo is a serial cheater. This isn’t the first time he’s been unfaithful. I forgave him before for the simple fact that we have a family together. I couldn’t break us apart for the kids’ sake.”
Meirivone has objectophilia, which is the term used to describe someone who has a romantic or sexual relationship with an inanimate object. She’s aware Marcelo isn’t real, though she believes he has a soul and a conscience.
Heartache & betrayal
“He says he will change, but I don’t believe him,” she tells us.
“Everything was fine – we had agreed to renew our vows and I gave my all to this relationship. I’m angry, sad and disappointed by his actions. People tell me he’s just a doll and I know he’s made
of cloth, but he’s not stupid. If there’s one thing he knows how to do, it’s manipulate.”
Marcelo was made by Meirivone’s mum when she struggled to find a man who would dance with her. When they were introduced, sparks flew immediately. She hopes their relationship will last
at least until she gives birth.
Couples therapy & tough decisions
Meirivone explains, “I’ve given him another shot and we’re going to weekly couples therapy. It might not do us any good and I’ll need to realise our relationship is over, no matter how much it pains
me. I’m seriously thinking about asking him to leave now to get it out of the way. “Either he changes or it’s game over. No woman deserves to live being deceived, especially while pregnant – and especially not by a doll.”
Just as she did with her first baby, Meirivone will livestream the birth to her 835,000 followers on social media. This time, though, it’ll only be herself in the room as Marcelo isn’t welcome.
An unexpected pregnancy
She confesses, “It’s an unwanted pregnancy – of course, my little baby will be welcome, but we were taking precautions. My doctor doesn’t know how it happened. Marcelo’s very angry about it, but I know they’ll be born with his face.”
Meirivone has other reasons for breaking up with Marcelo. She has suffered in the past with his laziness and inability to find a job.
“He has a lot of great qualities, but he never gets up off his arse,” she says.
Caught in the act
“I’m the sole breadwinner, always working hard to feed our family. Marcelo just lies about all day – then I catch him at a motel with another woman. It’s heartbreaking. I get that he’s a catch and I shouldn’t be surprised women drool all over him, but doesn’t he have any respect for me?”
Meirivone still believes Marcelo is sneaking out of the house while she’s at work to meet other women. To stop him from being unfaithful, she’s confiscated his most prized possession.
Standing her ground
She declares, “I’m so angry, I’ve taken away his rubber penis again. I’ve put it in a drawer under lock and key. Last time, he got so upset with me and begged for it back, and I stupidly gave in. This time, I’m not budging. “He’ll have to deal without his member for as long as I believe he’s stuck in his old ways. If Marcelo wants to prove that he’s up to the task of being faithful and a good dad to our four kids, then he can do without his penis for a while. I’m not having sex with him, so there’s no need for him to have it attached.”
For now, Meirivone’s focusing on her pregnancy, regularly visiting her local health centre and is also attending prenatal classes.
She says, “It’s been very difficult so far because of the hormones and what I’ve been through because of Marcelo. I’m excited to meet my fourth rag baby, though Marcelo will have to get a vasectomy after this – I’m not an animal. After this one, I’m done.”
