After marrying the love of her life, a ragdoll named Marcelo, in 2022, Brazilian woman Meirivone Rocha went on to have a puppet son, Marcelinho. But last year, the pair found their romance hanging by a thread when, on their first anniversary, Meirivone claimed that Marcelo had been unfaithful.

Furious, Meirivone made him sleep on the sofa and decided to detach Marcelo’s penis – a white 16cm-long rubber dildo – as punishment. But the pair soon patched things up and have now expanded their unusual family, welcoming twin baby girls.

“I was so surprised it was twins!” says Meirivone, 37. “We’ve called one Marcela and the other Emilia. Life’s going to be busy now, but we’ve never been happier.”

Meirivone and Marcelo’s love story began in 2021, when the dancer, who lives in Brazil, couldn’t find a partner for her traditional forró dance. She complained to her mum, a keen crafter, about the lonely ordeal and within a few months, her issues – and love life – were stitched back together.

“It was love at first sight,” says Meirivone. “When my mum made Marcelo and first introduced me to him, I fell in love with him immediately.”

Just a few months later, Meirivone found herself expecting her first puppet child and, as she didn’t want to give birth out of wedlock, the two started planning an intimate ceremony.

“Our wedding was the most wonderful day of my life,” recalls Meirivone. “Over 250 people came and while the weather wasn’t great, it was still perfect.” Of the wedding night, she simply says, “We enjoyed it a lot.”

No strings attached: On their wedding day.

The couple had a week-long honeymoon at a beach house in Rio de Janeiro, where they anxiously waited for their offspring to arrive and Meirivone gained 6.5kg in baby weight.

Unsurprisingly, her pregnancy was met with scepticism, but Meirivone insists, “Of course it is Marcelo’s baby. He didn’t use a condom. It upsets me when people say I’m faking my relationship. My parents raised me to be a good, honest person.”

Meirivone’s labour was streamed live on social media.

Meirivone live-streamed her 35-minute labour on social media. She says, “Thankfully, the birth was an easy ride. I didn’t feel the contractions or have any pain. I almost didn’t believe I was in labour.”

The baby, which was named Marcelinho, arrived with the same striking curls and button blue eyes as his father. Since then, they’ve taken to social media to share family life together with their 676,000 followers – and although they appear to have everything sewn together, their true-love relationship is at times harder than it seams…

Meirivone, who works as a cleaner, says, “Marcelo has lots of great qualities and we don’t fight, but he’s just so lazy. He doesn’t work at all, so I’m the sole breadwinner. We sometimes struggle to pay the bills, but I keep going for us.

“We hit a rocky patch when a friend told me she saw him with another woman at a hotel. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but when I confronted him, it turned out to be true. He broke down and asked for forgiveness, which really broke my heart. It’s very naughty of him as he still goes after other women and lies to me that nothing has happened.

“The last time, I got really mad and decided to take away his rubber penis,” she admits. “I’m afraid that other women will go touch him inappropriately, so I put it in a drawer and lock it away whenever we go out to bars or shows. I’ve done it before and I’ll do it again.”

Despite their ups and downs, the pair patched things up and went on to expand their family. ln April last year, Meirivone revealed a positive pregnancy test on her TikTok account, along with the ultrasound of her unborn baby.

When the due date neared, Meirivone made Marcelo get to work. “He prepared the small bedroom for the baby’s arrival,” she explains. “We both couldn’t wait to meet her. I was very emotional as my hormones were raging and I suffered with vomiting as well as nausea in the morning. Aside from the bad headaches and food cravings, I knew it would all be worth it.”

Last year, on 23 December, Meirivone gave birth to her beautiful twin daughters. She says, “It was a natural birth. To mark the special occasion, I decided to livestream it on Facebook so my friends could watch along. The twins made the most perfect Christmas present and I hope this will bring us closer together as a family.

“One day, my dream is to buy us a home and that my husband remains faithful for good. It’s been a hard time, but what can I expect? I married a doll!”
