The body of a two-year-old boy has been found, after he was dragged underwater by an alligator near Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort and Spa.

A huge search operation has been underway for the child, who was wading in a lagoon within the resort when he was pulled under water on Tuesday evening.

His father desperately tried to wrestle the boy away from the alligator but failed, and a search has continued over the past two days.

And according to reports the boy’s body has now been recovered from the resort, bringing a tragic end to this family’s dream holiday.

More than 50 law enforcement personnel have searched the Seven Seas Lagoon since Tuesday, with five alligators being killed and dissected during the hunt.

Sheriff Jerry Demings said at the initial press conference the family will “no question lose the 2-year-old,” a prediction that sadly turned out to be correct.

The boy was found intact, and had been drowned by the alligator.
