One teacher that went the extra mile

Whether it was taking us under their wing when they could see we were struggling, or giving us the extra tuition we needed, that one person sticks in your mind forever.

A teacher from Evergreen Avenue Elementary School in New Jersey decided that they wanted to be that person for their pupils.

Chandni Langford, who teachers fifth grade, wrote personalised messages on every single student’s desk, ahead of their tests at the end of the year.

One read: “Lis, Remember, there is no elevator to success, you must take the stairs! You got this! Love, Your Teachers.”

In another, they wrote: “Yovani, I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it! Do your best!”

The school’s official Facebook page shared pictures of the incident, which quickly went viral on social media.

Captioning the shots, they wrote: “To motivate her 5th grade students, Mrs. Langford at Evergreen Avenue prepared inspirational, growth-mindset messages for every one of her students. Each personalized note was written in dry-erase marker on students’ desks so they could be cleaned up prior to starting PARCC.”

Isn’t that just great?
