A Canadian woman currently suffering from cancer has won a massive cash prize, after she dreamt of her winning numbers years ago.

Olga Beno, from Nova Scotia, says she had a dream about her winning numbers back in the 80s, and has used them ever since while playing the lottery.

And after selling her home to fund her ongoing cancer treatment, the windfall is a welcome cash injection into her life.

Olga didn’t believe her eyes when she saw her winning numbers flash up on the screen, and so waited till she saw them in the paper the next day.

“At first I thought – it can’t be,” the Stage Four cancer sufferer told Atlantic Lottery.

“Then I said to my sister ‘I think I won the lottery.’

“She said ‘Phone me back when you want to tell me the truth.”

But despite her naysayer, Olga sure had won the lottery – scooping an incredible 5.3 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of $5.7 million NZ.

Ten years ago, Olga was diagnosed with Stage Four cancer and was forced to sell her home to fund treatment.

She said that her husband, children and grandkids have all helped her survive and that she wants to spoil them to say thanks by taking them to Disney World.
