Most women find that they get a hankering for a particular food whilst pregnant – and quite a lot of the time, they’re rather odd.
It might be something that the mum-to-be has never eaten before. It could even be something that’s not a normal food – but if mum needs to eat it, she will!
A study of 1,400 mums on behalf of Pregnacare found that most mums do crave something out of the ordinary – such as boiled eggs with horseradish or garlic mushrooms dipped in custard…
Other strange food combinations that came up were grated carrot mixed with ketchup, cold toast with marmite and a banana and a crisp toastie.
The study found that 67 per cent of the mums found themselves having cravings whilst pregnant – but it did find that mums are being drawn to more unhealthy foods, with three in 10 women confessing to eating chocolate while pregnant.
In fact, chocolate was one of the most common cravings across the board along with fruit and ice lollies.
The most popular cravings were:
Chocolate
